Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) has asked the owners of projects, buildings and houses, which require regularisation or other approvals, to deposit the fee thereof immediately or else they can suffer financially and social on account of ongoing KBCA campaign for recovery of dues.

The KBCA warned that in case of non-payment of outstanding dues, the connections for water, gas and electricity of such buildings and houses will be severed and approval of plans cancelled.

They were cautioned that demolition, sealing and legal proceedings will also be initiated against those falling in the category of defaulters.

The Building Control Authority has warned owners of all such constructions to pay off their dues within 7 days to avoid the aforesaid action so that not only they could safeguard their investment but also preserve social status.

Meanwhile, describing plumbering as a most important factory in the construction process, the KBCA has announced to hold a plumbering training course which will start from August 6.

A KBCA announcement said that eligible candidates for the course can submit their applications between August 2 to 6 with Administration General KBCA.

According to another KBCA report, a demolition squard of the Authority could not carry out demolition action because of a gathering of 100 women held for Quran Khawani at the site on Plot No 145, Block-3, Bihar Muslim Cooperative Housing Society.

The Chief Controller of Buildings, Brigadier A.S. Nasir (Retd) regretted that in order to safeguard an illegal act, a sacred process was resorted to as a shield.

He appealed to the people not to be swayed away by the negative attitude of elements violating law but strengthen the hands of law against illegal constructions.
